Hi guys, I’m Mallory Graham, from mallorygraham.com. Be sure to hit subscribe and also hit the bell so that you can get notified every time I post a brand new video. If you most often say yes and commit to too many things, then keep on watching.

First off, when we say success, what do we mean by that? Success means different things to different people. But for the purposes of this video, success means two things. The first, growing the sales of your business. And second, being happy with your life. The key word there is life. So, having freedom in order to actually have a life.

Now, let’s get started on the top three reasons why saying no will help you achieve success in your business. The first reason that you have to say no to be more successful is that there is a limited amount of time in a day, in a week, in a month. And every yes equals a no. What I mean by this is that you simply cannot do everything. If you say yes to a given project, then that will mean that you have to say no to another opportunity. If you say yes to dinner with a client, that means that you’re saying no to dinner with your family at home. If you’re saying yes to a morning coffee meeting, then that might mean that you’re saying no to your morning workout routine.

I have a question for you, what’s one thing, the first thing that comes to mind, that you’ve got to start saying no to? Let me know in the comments below. This might be coffee meetings or small jobs that require hardly any time. I tell you, all of these little things add up.

The second reason that you have to start saying no in order to be more successful is that if it’s not well aligned with what your business offers, then that will create confusion in the market. Taking on any project or opportunity that comes your way will make people think that you are just doing whatever is hottest right now, as opposed to sticking to what you know and being a real true expert in your field.

It might also make you come across as being sales and just trying to take on anything that will get you more sales. We’ve seen this way too many times. One week you are an expert in healthcare, and then the next week you’re taking on a major project as a leader in business knowledge. Figuring out who you are, who you serve, and who you do not serve, will help you grow your business immensely.

The third reason that you should start saying no is because saying no will mean that you have more time to do what is the most valuable in your business. It will also mean that you can focus on what is most important in the growth and then the direction that you want to take your business in the future. I’ve heard it so many times from small business owners that they are so damn busy. But, they don’t have time to take on simple tasks like setting up the online presence for their business.

Start saying no to some of these projects so that you have time to establish your business strategy, and also figure out what success looks like for the future of your business. What’s the one thing that’s preventing you from saying no? Let me know in the comments below.

So, now you know exactly why you should start saying no to experience more success in your business. If you’re someone who is looking for ways to get started on your marketing strategy, I have created a Digital Marketing Guide that is available for free here!
